New to St Andrew's?

Serving tea and coffeeIf you are thinking of visiting St Andrew's or have recently come along - welcome!

You will find a friendly congregation welcoming people of all ages.

For the full range of services and other activities please check our What's on pages.

There are a several Welcome events during the year to help newcomers meet others and find their place here. Do get in touch to find out more.

Services

Services are structured but accessible.

After the Sunday 10 am service, everyone makes their way across the car park to the Church Hall for tea, coffee and biscuits. After the monthly evening service, these are served at the back of the church. The 8 am service may be quiet, but is noticeable for the friendly chatter afterwards.

Anyone who receives communion in their own church is welcome to do so at St Andrew's. We encourage anyone who does not wish to receive to come forward in communion services for a prayer of blessing.

Children's workshop in the New ChurchChildren and Young People

If you are bringing children or young people we will be delighted to see them in church and there are activities and groups for them on Sundays and during the week.

Each summer we run a week's Holiday Club for ages 5 to 11 at the beginning of the school holidays with fun, games, craft, learning, music and more.

Access

There is wheelchair access to the Church Hall. There is a portable ramp to give access to the church (which is a listed building). If you find it is not down when you arrive for a service, please ask anyone to fetch a member of the welcome team. If you wish to visit the church at other times, there is one shallow step but the door is heavy and you may find it helpful to bring a companion with you.

A sound loop system is used during services in the New Church and service booklets for 10 am Sunday services and weekly Notice sheets are available in large print.

There is a toilet in the vestry at the back of the New Church and there are further toilets in the Church Hall (including one for people with disabilities). (These facilities are only open during services and other events.)
