Who we are

We are a community of people from all walks of life committed to having our lives transformed by the love and grace of Jesus – and in that grace being a beacon of hope for our local area.

St Andrew’s is part of the Church of England and is the parish church for Eaton Village. We warmly welcome all to join us on Sundays, or at other times, whether you’re a committed Christian, or never been to church before. You are very welcome to come along with all your questions and doubts, as we learn together what it means to follow the way of Jesus. St Andrew’s is here for you.

Our main Sunday service is at 10am and is usually traditional but relaxed, with a mixture of modern songs and old hymns, and with a focus on learning together from the Bible. There is an area where children can play during the service, and on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month during term-time there are activities for ages 5-11 in the church hall.

We also have lots going on throughout the week, including times for prayer and Bible studies, as well as social groups and activities from coffee mornings to art clubs, and events to bless and serve the wider community. Check out our the Church Life and What’s On pages above for more details of all that’s going on.

Our Vision & Values

Our vision at St Andrew’s is to see people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures transformed by the love and grace of God in Jesus Christ. More specifically, we have a vision of a church that increasingly reflects the following values – values which we think make us distinctive at our best, but also who we aspire to be as we are transformed by Christ:

Heart-filled Worship

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart.”
Matthew 22:37
Our services are simple, but wholehearted. We come as we are to give ourselves to God, expectant that God will speak and act. We long for our Sunday gatherings to be a time of refreshing and renewal, so that our worship might continue throughout the week in lives lived to the glory of God.

Committed Discipleship

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:29
We are disciples of Jesus, committed to following him and learning from him. We do this by learning together from the Bible, and encouraging each other to live out what we learn, that we may all grow in maturity in faith. As well as Sunday services, opportunities for learning together include small groups and study courses. But we also learn by doing, as we put our faith into action through caring for each other and serving the needs of our community.

Generous Community

“Just as I have loved you, so you should love one another.”
John 13:34

We seek to reflect God’s generous love to us in Jesus Christ, through how we care for one another and welcome all-comers. Our longing is to be a church family where we bear with one another in our weaknesses, support one another in our struggles, and sacrificially invest in each other so all are valued and included.

Transformative Mission

“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world."
Matthew 5:13,14

Through acts of service, cultivating friendships and sharing the Good News, we want to bring the life-changing love and hope of Jesus to Eaton and beyond. We regularly serve our parish with community initiatives, and we care for the needs of the vulnerable and strive against injustice through involvement in local organisations. As an Eco Church, we have committed to living more sustainably and encouraging others to do the same through regular Eco events. Most of all, we provide opportunities for people to experience and engage with the Good News of Jesus.
