Sundays

10am Morning Service

We meet for our main weekly service on Sundays at 10am. Worship is traditional but relaxed, with singing supported by our choir, the St Andrew’s Singers. The focus of our time together is to listen to God through his Word as we study a passage of the Bible together. Services last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and are followed by refreshments in the Church Hall. The service is live-streamed on the St Andrew’s channel on YouTube.

During term time, there is also a Sunday school for children during the service on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. See here for more details.

Holy Communion

Two times a month, usually the 2nd and 4th Sundays, we celebrate Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper). All baptised Christians who are trusting in Jesus as Saviour and Lord are very welcome to receive Communion, but if you have any concerns please speak to the person leading the service when you arrive. More information about what Holy Communion means can be found on the Church of England website here.

5th Sunday Worship for All Ages

When there is a 5th Sunday in the month, we do things a bit differently. The service is more informal and interactive, with something to engage all ages – from 5 to 95!

8am Holy Communion

On the first Sunday of each month, there is a shorter, quiet service of Holy Communion in the Old Church, using the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer.

Evening Cafe Church

Also meeting on the first Sunday of each month at 6.30pm, our Evening Cafe Church is an informal service with refreshments, more contemporary music and interactive ways of learning from the Bible. For the current series see here.

Accessibility

There is wheelchair access to the Church Hall. There is a portable ramp to give access to the church (which is a listed building). If you find it is not down when you arrive for a service, please ask anyone to fetch a member of the welcome team. If you wish to visit the church at other times, there is one shallow step but the door is heavy and you may find it helpful to bring a companion with you.

Service booklets and hymn books are available in large print on request.

There is a toilet in the vestry at the back of the New Church and there are further toilets in the Church Hall (including one for people with disabilities). (These facilities are only open during services and other events.)
